Emulsion breakers

It can replace conventional inorganic treatment agents such as iron chloride or aluminium chloride.

It is primarily used to break emulsions in water-based paint systems, dispersions and latex emulsions, as well as oily emulsions and wash water.

EFAMULS products are mainly blends of organic and inorganic cationic active polymers, available in different forms, molecular weights and pH values. They are acidic.

Laboratory testing determines the product and dose. During use, continuously monitor pH and maintain it between 7 and 9.

EFAMULS can be dosed manually or automatically. For large quantities, a pH-controlled dosing pump is recommended. Anionic, cationic or non-ionic flocculation aids from the EFAFLOC 1300–1399 or 1700–1799 ranges optimise flocculation, producing readily dewatered flocs suitable for flotation or sedimentation.

Wear suitable gloves and safety glasses or a face shield. After skin contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical treatment if necessary. Absorb spills with sand or absorbent material, then clean with plenty of water. Read the safety data sheets carefully.

Store between 4°C and 30°C. Plastic, glass, or epoxy or rubber lined stainless steel are recommended for storage and dosing equipment. Use opened containers within six months.
