What is wastewater treatment
Chemtrade International treatment produces clean water. For wastewater from production processes with high pollutant loads, physicochemical treatment is the best choice. Various techniques can remove solids and other contaminants.
Laboratory testing identifies the approach offering the best performance and desired results. Appropriate chemicals remove the pollutant load, leaving filtrate that meets discharge limits. Flocculants can also improve existing plants. Treatment minimises environmental impact.
Industrial water treatment
Water has many industrial uses, and nearly all used water needs treatment before reuse or discharge. Few industrial processes can operate without wastewater treatment. Strict legal requirements apply, and Chemtrade International can meet this challenge reliably and economically.
Best available techniques
Our treatment approach follows best available techniques (BAT) requirements: efficient, economical management of industrial wastewater using reasonably available methods in the Netherlands or elsewhere. Considerations include design, construction, operation, energy costs and the environmental footprint when a technique is decommissioned.
The specific BAT for your wastewater may fall outside our range, for example membrane filtration, reverse osmosis (RO) or UV treatment. These are outside our physicochemical treatment offering.
Our approach
Finding the right solution requires a thorough assessment, especially as industrial wastewater becomes more complex. Concentrated raw materials and stronger emulsifying properties may improve finished products but make treatment harder. We would be pleased to discuss your particular stream.

We then obtain a representative sample for a no obligation initial analysis, focusing on your required parameters and how physicochemical treatment can achieve them. The selected chemistry determines a possible treatment method.
Where a plant already exists, we assess whether it is adequate or needs modification. If no plant is present, we can offer a suitable system.
