Process and rinsing bath recycling

Physicochemical treatment can extend the service life of process and rinsing baths.

The new EFA bath recycling method (BKL) reduces cleaning costs for process and rinsing baths.

This treatment substantially extends the life of a process bath and its associated rinsing bath. Most active cleaning agents remain in the process, creating significant savings.

In industrial plants, cleaning agents generate oil and water emulsions. These must be removed from process and rinsing baths continuously or at regular intervals to maintain effective degreasing.

A newly developed reaction separation agent in the EFAPUR 1400 range makes it possible to remove disruptive contaminants while retaining most active cleaning substances. EFAPUR 1400 cleans the bath alongside the ongoing degreasing process, without neutralisation or cooling the bath.

The cleaned water is immediately available for reuse with minimal heat loss.

Sludge flocs containing oils, fats and other contaminants are removed through a filtration unit in the newly developed automatic BKL system. The filtrate is automatically returned to the continuous process for further degreasing or rinsing. The accompanying diagram shows the operating principle.

The process is substantially more efficient and reliable than conventional membrane filtration and oil separation systems. Permanently removing bath contaminants generally enables better cleaning with a lower cleaning agent concentration. Longer bath life reduces cleaning and disposal costs.
