Foaming in wastewater treatment systems can be caused by biological activity or mechanical treatment (aeration), among other things. Chemical reactions, surfactants or polymer treatment can also lead to foaming.
The defoamer breaks down the foam layer and remains active afterwards, so that no new foam can build up.
