Chemtrade International B.V., together with EFA Chemie GmbH, has supplied a completely new plant to a paint stripping company in Brabant. The customer selected us because of the strong relationship built over recent years and its confidence in both companies’ knowledge and expertise.
Wastewater reactors
The plant forms part of a new production hall and associated facilities.
It is essentially a closed system: treated rinsing water is reused in high pressure washing and gas scrubbers. Wastewater from scrubbers and washing areas is collected in buffer tanks and pumped to reactors.
If necessary, pH is first adjusted, then EFAPUR is added using powder feeders. Sludge settles in the reactor. The clear upper water phase is pumped through filter media to remove remaining suspended particles and into a clean water buffer that supplies the high pressure system. Reactor sludge is transferred to a sludge buffer.
From the sludge buffer, a pneumatic diaphragm pump feeds one of two chamber filter presses for dewatering and minimal residual waste. Press filtrate also passes through a polishing filter box with filter bags for additional assurance.
This arrangement frees the reactor quickly for the next batch. While that batch is treated, the sludge buffer can be emptied through the filter press.
